Medco & South Sumatra Energy sign JOA for Sekayu CBM

(7/21/2010 - OGI: Singapore) A joint operating agreement (JOA) has been concluded by PT Medco Energi CBM Indonesia and South Sumatra Energy (SSE), a consortium held by CBM Asia Development in partnership with a number of local companies, for the Sekayu coalbed methane (CBM) production sharing contract block in the South Sumatra Basin, Indonesia.
CBM said today that the JOA will be operated by Medco CBM Sekayu and SSE. It the PSC provides for the joint exploration, appraisal, development, and production of CBM from the 58,349-hectare Sekayu Block. MedcoEnergi has an established project management team that has considerable experience and can now be mobilized, and the company has completed almost all procurement of services and equipment required to spud the next three exploration wells on the block sequentially.
MedcoEnergi and SSE each hold a 50% participating interest in the Sekayu PSC.
