ExxonMobil receives MMS safety award
(4/28/2004 - OGI: Houston) The US Interior Department's Minerals Management
Service (MMS) has selected ExxonMobil to receive its 2003 Safe Operations
and Accurate Reporting (SOAR) Award.
The MMS presented the SOAR Award to ExxonMobil for the company's offshore
operating performance and its fiscal responsibility. The agency recognized
ExxonMobil as one of the best performing "citizens" operating on the Outer
Continental Shelf in terms of safety as well as fiscal management and
reporting procedures.
"We are honored to be recognized by the MMS as a leader in safety and
operational performance," said Tom Walters, vice president of US Production
for ExxonMobil. "In 2003, our employees and contractors achieved truly
outstanding results, and the SOAR Award acknowledges their accomplishments
and our company's commitment to safe and environmentally sound operations."

As further recognition, ExxonMobil also received the Revenues Stewardship
Award for exceptional performance in reporting oil and gas production, and
paying royalties for mineral leases on federal and Indian lands. The award,
established in 1987, honors ExxonMobil for the overall accuracy and
timeliness of its payments and reports as well as for its cooperation and
responsiveness to compliance and enforcement requests. More than 1,600
companies submit reports of minerals production and sales from federal and
Indian leases.
This marks the third successive year ExxonMobil has won major recognition
from the MMS. The company won SAFE awards for excellence in 2001 and 2002 as
well as the agency's Corporate Citizen Award for 2001. The awards recognized
ExxonMobil's safety record and operational performance at its US offshore
drilling and production facilities, and its production and royalty reporting
activities.
