JV to enhance microseismic monitoring services

(6/7/2004 - OGI: Paris) VSFusion and Magnitude revealed today their agreement to bring together borehole seismic application design, data processing, interpretation, and integration and leading edge microseismic monitoring services. The alliance was revealed today at the annual meeting of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers in Paris.
The collaboration, working with Baker Atlas, which offers high fidelity SST-500, Geochain, and MSR-600 tools with fast data transmission rates and the ability to record high frequencies, will allow the two partners to offer world-class acquisition, processing, and interpretation of microseismic data recorded during hydraulic fracture monitoring and semi-permanent deployment of receivers to monitor gas, water, or steam injection.

VSFusion & Magnitude enhancement of microseismic data.

VSFusion is a joint venture company formed from the borehole seismic processing groups of Baker Atlas, a Baker Hughes division, and Compagnie Generale de Geophysique (CGG). VSFusion specializes in borehole seismic application design, data processing, and interpretation. The resulting borehole seismic measurements provide calibration information and parameters to enhance surface seismic imaging, improve attribute processing, and reduce uncertainty in surface seismic interpretation.
Magnitude is an earth-science company providing comprehensive microseismic monitoring services to industry worldwide. Consultancy and engineering services are provided for monitoring underground gas storage stability, reservoir subsidence, waste injections control, hydraulic fracturing mapping, environmental and natural risk management. Monitoring services include network design, short-term surveys, and permanent management.
