Woodside & BHP spud Stybarrow-3 appraisal

The Atwood Eagle.
(5/26/2004 - OGI: Perth) Woodside Petroleum and BHP Billiton have spudded their Stybarrow-3 appraisal well in Block WA-255-P offshore Western Australia in the Exmouth Sub-basin. The Stybarrow-3 drillsite is located approximately two km northeast of the Stybarrow-1 discovery well.
The Atwood Eagle semisubmersible is drilling the appraisal well in waters approximately 2,592 ft deep to a planned total depth below sea level of 8,268 ft (2,520 meters).
Woodside and BHP Billiton Petroleum share equal partnership in Block WA-255-P and the Stybarrow wells, with BHP serviing as operator.
