Update:
QMAC's 1st Montana well a winner

(5/26/2004 - OGI: Denver) QMAC Energy reported today the successful completion of the drilling phase of a new in-fill well in Montana's Lake Frances gasfield. Bob Miller, QMAC's CEO, said the well is the first of the company's five-well gaswell development program for the year.
Miller said openhole logs of the new well have been completed and the operator, Altamont Oil & Gas, is currently running production casing. QMAC paid 33% of the drilling costs for the new well as part of its farm-in agreement with Altamont to obtain a 25% revenue interest in the well, located in Pondera County, Montana.
QMAC has a 25% interest in two other producing gaswells in the Lake Frances Field that have proven reserves of 418 million cf each.
The new wells will employ air drilling techniques rather than standard fluid drilling methods, which risk damaging the reservoir as a consequence of drilling fluid plugging the porosity and permeability of the pay zone. After payback of the QMAC's drilling and completion costs, QMAC will own a full 50% working interest in the new wells.
