New sanctions on Russia for latest Ukraine offensive

Pro-Russian, Russian-supported rebels have broken the fragile ceasefire in eastern Ukraine with a dire attack on the Port of Mariupol that killed at least 30 civilians and caused widespread casualties and destruction. In response, the European Union has called for additional sanctions on Russia in a joint statement by the EU's 28 leaders that condemned the indiscriminate shelling of Mariupol. They are to assess the worsening situation at their summit meeting on 12 February and may impose the new sanctions at that time...⇒⇒⇒

Week's trade off with big losses across the board

(3/2/2015) Traders at the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in London started this first week of March trading in our monitored benchmarks with selloffs that sent all of these watched crudes significantly lower than they stood at their Friday settlements. Most influential in today's reversal in prices was the expectation that the crude inventory report for last week will show new record high volumes but with a smaller than usual growth in stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma delivery hub...⇒⇒⇒
